If you can't tell what I am taking a picture of here, there is a little Tommy in the edge of the pictures and a little Caitlin in the other. They are both sleeping in the same room!!! Last night was our second night and there hasn't been any less sleep going on. Basically it was so bad before that I didn't think that it could get much worse. They just take turns waking up at night but so far they haven't woke up the other. So as far as I am concerned this is a little victory. I am a zombie either way. (Please don't look to hard at the blue bumper on Caitlin's crib I will be finishing her pink and purple one this weekend)

Last Saturday, Matt spent a good chunk of the day
plexi-glassing the front of the crib.

Here you can see a little better what is going on. Tommy is such a climber that we have been really worried about sticking Caitlin in his room. This was our
remedy to the situation. This way he had no foot holds. I was all ready to post a victory blog on Monday. We had out smarted the 2 year old!! It took him about 3 days but he has scaled this too. I watched him put his hands on the top, climb up the glass with his feet, get an elbow on the top of the railing and pull himself into the crib. I was in the room at the time and Caitlin was just waking up from a nap so after his victory he laid down next to her and they both laughed about it.

It doesn't help that we put up Caitlin's butterfly mobile (if you click on th picture you can see them better)and he just was dying to play with them. We basically challenged him to find away and of course he did. I have gotten some funny advise on what to do next. My mom says to lotion his feet every night so they will be too slippery. A friend said to just
crisco the
plexi-glass. Any other bright ideas?
I can't get over how smart that kid is! I thought the plexiglass idea was the perfect solution until I continued reading and saw that he still made it in. I guess he just wants to hang out with his sister!
ReplyDeleteParker jokingly said to put the plexiglass on top of the crib. That should keep him out right?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Lynds. We've started putting an alarm clock in Jenelle's room and she's not allowed to get out of bed until it says 7:30. Sounds silly I know, but it's worked so far. Maybe that's just cause she thinks she's so cool to have a clock like ours in her room. Maybe worth a try to at least keep him in his bed? Don't know.
ReplyDeleteI guess the good news is that your kids like each other and enjoy hanging out together. :)
ReplyDeleteyeah for 2 kids sharing a room AND getting sleep!! that is serious success!! yeah the plexiglass on top is definitely the way to go, I love it, caitlin growing up sleeping in a glass box!! :) and b.t.w. loved the adorable pics of caitlin- she is seriously cute!!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat is so hilarious. Wearing socks might make it too slippery. If he was wearing socks when he scaled the wall that is very talented.
ReplyDeletecongrats on getting them in the same room! AWESOME! we tried and failed. I love the pictures. and also the other mothers' advice on keeping kids in bed!
